Juniors Section
We have a long tradition of successful junior golf at RGC. Our 2020 and 2021 Club Captain, Dale Marson was an outstanding junior here as was Josh Taplin recently qualified professional golfer and Neil Taylor who supported our junior development in 2021 with some notable success. There have been many others and many owed much of thier development to former member, Danny Ramshaw. Lauren Taylor, current tour professional was a junior here and is also an honorary life member at RGC ( see Board in clubhouse)
We are currently rebuilding our junior structure at RGC and have launched a major recruitment initiative. We are repeating our take up golf beginner courses at Leam valley and RGC. We will run junior coaching sessions from May 2022 for junior memebers and invited others.
Eddie Hayle ( see picture below) has agreed to serve as junior captain for 2022/3 and 2023/4. He will be supported by 2022 club vice captain and 2023 Captain elect, Julian Webster
We introduced a revised 2020 safeguarding policy approved by England Golf Gerry Crofts ( see picture below) is one of our two Junior Welfare Officers, the current Club Secretary, Andrew Leech is the other. You may contact Gerry via Gerry.crofts@reach2.org adn Andrew via info@rugbygolfclub.co.uk
We are aiming to reintroduce a number of junior competions and social events this summer. We will support junior mebers as they strive to learn the rules and etiquette of golf and make the transition from practice ground and lessons to plying the course
