THE ASSOCIATION OF JAMES BRAID COURSES 2016
Rules
1 Tee reservations for a two, three or four ball must be made in advance (at least 24 hours), stating you are booking under the "˜Association of James Braid Courses' scheme
2 You will be required to provide proof of home club to Professional on your arrival - either handicap certificate or bar card which MUST show your name; a logo on your sweater is NOT acceptable"¦...cheeky!
3 Bookings will only be accepted based on Club's tee availability and cannot be accepted with any other offer
4 The green fee being charged is shown below; green fees valid for both ladies and gentlemen
5 These rates are for members of member clubs only and NOT for a group/society. [I have had reports of groups trying to work the system by booking one four ball in one name, then another in another and then another; this is abusing the idea of the Association and will result in clubs refusing your booking/s. Please do not do this]
6 Certain clubs will accept bookings for away day/touring groups and these are signified by G followed by a number signifying the maximum number in a group at the green fee rates shown below. A full list of all participating clubs in this part of the scheme is shown at the end. Groups must be booked well in advance and all members must be members of an Association member club; other members of the group must pay the full green fee The group organiser will be expected to provide proof of membership of member clubs. James Braid was involved in the design, either originally or the re-design, of more than 400 courses.
A book published last year, "˜James Braid and his Four Hundred Golf Courses' is available from eitherGrant Books www.grantbooks.co.uk email golf@grantbooks.co.uk or Verandah Books www.verandahbooks.co.uk email mail@verandahbooks.co.uk for £25.00 plus postage £4.00 UK.

Guidance Notes
Over the past few years clubs have found the following gives the best results for your members, avoids confusion which increases visits to all courses.
Display the attached list of member clubs on your ladies' and gentlemen's notice-boards
Display the attached "˜certificate' either in your foyer or with the above lists. Insert your club name and the year of Braid's visit (if you do not know this I can supply it)
[At Henley we display this on changing room notice boards, referring members to the foyer where there is a copy of the list in a folder]
Add the attached logo to your members section of your website
On your members section of your website you should either display the list or print that the master list can be found on www.henleygc.com/membership_benefits [underscore between membership and benefits] This list is kept up to date with any changes during the year.
Notify your members that there is also a map and an app which can be found on https://sites.google.com/site/ajbmap/
Brief your staff about the arrangement and the rules which appear on the list of member clubs. Your members must follow these rules when making bookings at the clubs.
[In the last year some clubs have had problems with golfers trying to book or arriving having not been aware of the rules]
If every club follows the above then your club will benefit from increased green fee revenue.
