Ladies Section

The Ladies Section of the Golf Club is acknowledged to be very friendly and sociable, and extremely welcoming to all new members.

The ladies have their own committee, headed by the Lady Captain and assisted by a committee of seven other elected lady members, namely Secretary, Treasurer, Handicap Secretary, Match Secretary, Vice-Captain, Vice-Captain Elect and one 2-year serving member.

Apart from playing members, there is a Social Member category for those wishing to participate in social events only and this includes a small group of ladies who play Bridge in the Club House every Monday.

Ladies Day is Wednesday with competitions arranged throughout the year.    Accordingly, the 1st tee is reserved from 12 noon (11 am from November to March) to 14.15 hours and 17.00 to 17.30 although ladies can play outside these times if necessary.

The ladies play a range of matches and competitions including Warwickshire League, Scratch League, Daily Mail Foursomes and Mail on Sunday plus regular friendly matches against local clubs. Social golf is also very popular amongst the ladies including friendly matches against teams headed by the Club Captain, Seniors’ Captain and Juniors’ Captain plus the much enjoyed Lady Captain’s Day and Lady Captain’s Away Day. A programme of mixed competitions and matches are also well supported and enjoyed by the ladies.

In November, there is the Annual Dinner and Presentation Evening which is always well attended. During the course of the year the Lady Captain also arranges various fund-raising events for her chosen charity. These generally range from Bring & Buys, Charity Auctions and Ladies Luncheons.

There are two Ladies Opens, one in the Spring during Festival Week and an AM/AM in the Autumn. Further details of these, together with entry forms, can be found elsewhere on the web site.

Your interest is welcomed and if further information is required then please contact the Ladies Secretary or Lady Captain via the Club Office.
